The town is 7 kilometers away from Khairpur City, in the direction of Sukkur via the National Highway.
Therhi is a well known center for date production in Pakistan. At the time of harvesting the date crop, thousands of people arrive from across the country especially from South Punjab and Baluchistan to help with the harvesting between late May and August.
