Thiago Bordin
Thiago Bordin (born March 19, 1983, in São Paulo) is a Brazilian/German ballet dancer and choreographer.
He was a principal dancer with the Hamburg Ballett (John Neumeier) in 2001–2014 and now he works as a NDT artist (Nederlands Dans Theater)
He was accepted into the acclaimed Akademie des Tanzes in Mannheim, Germany, when he was spotted by prima ballerina Birgit Keil. After completing his training he received immediate work at the Hamburg Ballet under John Neumeier. After four years in the corps de ballet he was promoted to soloist and eight months later to the rank of principal dancer.
Bordin repeatedly tried himself as a choreographer. As a guest star appeared in New York, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Stuttgart, Vienna, Munich, Colorado, Tokyo, Paris and other cities. A magnificent dancer, Bordin combined grace in movement with purity of lines and was a favourite among dance critics. Bordin has been nominated for the award Deutscher Tanzpreis, Der Faust and is recognized for his portrayals of Neumeier's versions of Armand Duval in The Lady of the Camelias and Romeo in Romeo and Juliet.
