Those Who Wish Me Dead is an upcoming American Western thriller film directed by Taylor Sheridan with a screenplay by Michael Koryta, Charles Leavitt and Sheridan, based on Koryta's novel of the same name.[1] The film stars Angelina Jolie, Nicholas Hoult, Tyler Perry, Jon Bernthal and Aidan Gillen.

Those Who Wish Me Dead is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 14, 2021, by Warner Bros. Pictures under the New Line Cinema banner, both in theaters and on HBO Max.

Premise

A female-driven neo-western set against a wildfire in the Montana wilderness. A teenage murder witness finds himself pursued by twin assassins in the Montana wilderness with a survival expert tasked with protecting him and a forest fire threatening to consume them all.

Cast

Production

It was announced in January 2019 that Angelina Jolie would star in the film, with Taylor Sheridan writing and directing the film.[2] By April, Nicholas Hoult, Tyler Perry, Jon Bernthal and Aiden Gillen were among new cast who joined the film.[3][4]

Filming began in May 2019, in New Mexico.[5][6] Production concluded in July 2019.[7] In August 2019, it was announced James Jordan had been cast in the film.[8]

The film's score will be composed by Brian Tyler.[9]

Release

In May 2019, it was announced Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema had acquired distribution rights to the film.[10] It is currently scheduled for a May 14, 2021 release.[11] As part of its plans for all of its 2021 films, Warner Bros. will also stream the film simultaneously on the HBO Max service for a period of one month, after which the film will be removed until the normal home media release schedule period.[12]
