Tjitske Hartoog-Minkema
Tjitske Hartoog-Minkema (31 October 1926 — May 1990) was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater, who was active at the end of the 1940s and 1950s.[1] She was also an athletics athlete, competing until 1989.[2] She emigrated to the United States.

Born in IJlst, she moved in the late 1940s to Sint Annaparochie. Minkema married with Arjaan Hartoog from Santpoort on 14 November 1952 in Sint Anna Parochie.[2] They were honored when leaving the town hall by a group of S.S.S. athletes and speed skaters. Hartoog-Minkema emigrated to Phoenix, Arizona, United States.[3] In May 1990 she died, aged 63.
Career
She won many competitions and even more prizes between 1947 and 1953.[4][5][6][7] Minkema was among the fastest Frisian speed skaters.[8] She won of her first competitions in 1947 in Dronrijp in the 17-20 years age group.[9] Later she won at elite level among others in Hijum in 1950.[10] Minkema appeared in an advertisement of “Super PB” skates.[11] Minkema started with athletics in 1949.[12] She won also prizes with athletics. She was also athletics trainer, like her husband Arjaan Hartoog, at S.S.S..[13] One of the last races she won was in 1953 in Lemmer (B-division).[14] She continued with athletics (including shot put, discus throw and race walk) after she emigrated to the United States.[15][16][17] She competed in race walking, discus throwing in her age group when she was 62 years old until 1989, a year before her death.[18][19]
