University of Sydney School of History and Philosophy of Science
The School of History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) is a constituent body of the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney, Australia. The HPS offers undergraduate and post-graduate programs in the history, philosophy and social studies of science and medicine and, jointly with the Centre for Values, Ethics and the Law in Medicine (VELiM), administers the Sydney Bioethics Program .

History
The first lecture series in History and Philosophy of Science was offered to science students in 1945. Classes started in 1953.[1]
