Vindhyasena's kingdom is believed to have included the Marathwada area in modern-day Maharashtra. An inscription at Ajanta from the time of Harishena, a later Vakataka monarch, records Vindhyasena's victory against the Kadambas of Vanavasi, the rulers of Kuntala (northern Karnataka).[1]
