History
Walnut Township was organized in 1859.[2]
The Argos Izaak Walton League Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.[3]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 37.75 square miles (97.8 km2), of which 37.71 square miles (97.7 km2) (or 99.89%) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) (or 0.11%) is water.[1]
