History
The company first started in the 1920s in Winkfield,[4] then in 1930 as a family run bus company, being run from generation to generation.[5] The company was established by William Rule Jeatt, after purchasing the bus depot from Republic Bus Company in 1930 and naming it White Bus Services.[6] It was subsequently passed down the family to Cecil Jeatt, then in 1972 to his son Doug Jeatt. The amount of public buses in the fleet were between 15 and 20 at the time.[4][5]
Acquisition by Rowgate Group
White Bus Services was sold to Fernhill Travel of Bracknell in November 2016, which is managed by Rowgate Group's chairman, Simon Rowland.[3]
In December 2018, White Bus Services received five short length ADL Enviro200s.[7] Two years later to celebrate their centenary anniversary, they bought two 10.8m variants of the same model which arrived in January 2020.[3]
Services
As of January 2021, White Bus Services runs 15 public services. The majority of the routes would start at Staines, Windsor or Woking and would terminate elsewhere within Berkshire.[8]
Fleet
White Bus Services has a range of different buses throughout the years, only recently in the turn of the millennium using the products of merger companies of ADL, along with Optare buses. Between 2006 and 2012, the company had bought Optare Deltas and Plaxton Premieres.[9][10]
The buses that are used for public routes are compromised of ADL and Optare products.[11][12]
Incidents
On 24 January 2019, the company reduced its 441 service from Staines to Englefield Green following minor damage to the inside of the bus where youths were throwing snowballs with stones at the bus on service. Police were notified of the incident, however no arrests were made.[13]
