Yasin Zia
Yasin Zia was the governor of Takhar Province in Afghanistan from October 2015 to May 2017.[1][2] He was promoted to Deputy Defense Minister on March 27, 2019,[3] and became the Army Chief of Staff in 2020.[4] Zia has also served as the deputy director general of NDS for operations.

As deputy general, one of the things Yasin Zia did was to push Taliban insurgents away from Takhar Province's capital of Taloqan. The Taliban were six miles away and had launched an assault last month.[5]
