Zaidu Sanusi

Zaidu Sanusi (born 13 June 1997) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a left back for Portuguese club FC Porto and the Nigeria national team[1]

Career

On 16 March 2019, Sanusi signed an agreement to join Santa Clara for the 2019–20 season. [2] He made his debut in a 2–0 Primeira Liga win over Moreirense F.C. on 15 September 2019.[3]

FC Porto

On 30 August 2020, Portuguese champions FC Porto have announced the signing of Zaidu Sanusi from rivals Santa Clara. Zaidu signed a five-year deal with the Blue and Whites which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025.

23 December 2020 Zaidu Sanusi won the Portuguese Super Cup with FC Porto after defeating Benfica 2-0 at Estadio Municipal de Aveiro. The first trophy of his professional career.

International career

Sanusi made his debut with the Nigeria national team in a friendly 0-1 defeat against Algeria on 9 October 2020.[4] A month later in November he made his official debut in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification where his side Nigeria were held to a shocking 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone.
