1923 Chico State Wildcats football team
The 1923 Chico State Wildcats football team represented Chico State Teachers College[note 1] during the 1923 college football season. Chico State competed in the California Coast Conference (CCC) in 1923. They played home games at College Field in Chico, California.

The 1923 Wildcats were led by first-year head coach Art Acker. Chico State finished the season with a record of five wins, two losses and two ties (5–2–2, 2–1 CCC North). The Wildcats outscored their opponents 191–48 for the season, including three shutout victories.

- The Preston School of Industry was opened in 1894 to rehabilitate juvenile offenders. It remained open until 2011.

- Sacramento City College was known as Sacramento Junior College from 1916 to 1936.
- College of San Mateo was known as San Mateo Junior College from 1922 to 1954.
