Summary

The season is best remembered thanks to the first European Cup clinched ever [1] defeating Raymond Kopa[2] and Just Fontaine's Stade de Reims[3] in an exciting Final with a 4–3 score.

The team could reach the semifinals [4] of Copa del Generalisimo and finished third in League 10 points behind champion Athletic Bilbao a record 81 goals scored.
