The larvae feed within the fruit of pomegranates. In Africa they have also been recorded feeding on Elaeis guineensis (African oil palm) (Arecaceae), Zea mays (Poaceae), Gossypium sp. and Ceiba pentandra (Malvaceae), as well as flowers of Pandanus sp.[4]
