Atiwa District
Atiwa District is a former district in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was part of a then-larger East Akim District in 1988. Then it was split off by the NPP Kufuor government to become Atiwa District in 2004.[1][2] However on June 1, 2018, it was split out into two new districts: Atiwa East District (capital: Anyinam) and Atiwa West District (capital: Kwabeng). The municipality was located in the central part of Eastern Region and had Kwabeng as its capital town.[1]
