Gorakhpur Metro
The Gorakhpur Metro is a light rapid transit system proposed for the city of Gorakhpur, India. The total system will be consisting of 2 corridors covering a distance of 27.41 kilometres (17.03 mi) and both corridor will have 27 metro station. Estimated ₹4800 Cr will be spent on this project. The feasibility study of metro rail in Gorakhpur has been prepared by RITES to control the traffic woes and congestion which are hampering the growth, development and prosperity of the city. The officials of Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA), Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) and Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) have done meeting on 28 Feb 2019 to finalize the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The depot will be constructed in Suba Bazar and Muglaha.[1]

Routes
Corridor 1:
The first line would be constructed from Shyam Nagar to Suba Bazar that cover 16.95 km of distance and comprises 16 stations.
Corridor 2:
The second line would be constructed from Gulriha to Kacheri Chauraha (possible phased extension towards Nausad via Transportnagar)that covers 10.46 km of distance and comprises 11 stations.[2]
Status update
