Ranchi Metro

Ranchi Metro (Hindi: रांची मेट्रो) is a 16.2 Km planned rapid transit system for the city of Ranchi in Jharkhand, India.[2] [3] It would be owned and operated by state run Ranchi Metro Rail Corporation.[4]

History

On 20 September 2017, the Planning Commission of India gave approval for the Ranchi Metro. The Metro rail will be introduced on two routes under the public-private partnership mode.

The Metro rail is expected to run on two routes by 2021. For First Phase – Routes 1A, 1B, – i.e. Ratu road via Kutcheri Chowk & Stadium to station Point 17 nearby HEC Ltd. In the second phase, Metro Rail services would be provided between Lakshmi Nagar to Namkum via Ranchi mainroad. The Two metro lines will have junction at nearby railway flyover and Ranchi main road junction.
