Haitham Zein

Haitham Ali Zein (Arabic: هيثم علي زين; born 6 January 1979) is a Lebanese former footballer who played as a forward. He played for numerous Lebanese Premier League clubs, mainly at Tadamon Sour, and represented Lebanon internationally.

Club career

Zein started with Tadamon Sour and spent eight years, scoring 94 league goals.[2] He moved to Nejmeh in 2006, spending half a season, before moving to Bahrain Club. He returned to Lebanon in 2008, signing for Chabab Ghazieh, before moving to Islah Borj Shmali the following season. In 2011 he signed for Salam Sour, retiring that season. Zein scored 112 goals in the Lebanese Premier League.

International career

Zein represented the Lebanon national football team between 1998 and 2004. During that time, he scored three goals for Lebanon in the WAFF Championship, two in 2000 and one in 2004.[3] The first was in a 2–1 defeat against Iraq in the 15th minute, the second against Kyrgyzstan in a 2–0 win the 41st minute. His 2004 WAFF Championship goal was in the 65th minute against Syria.[4]

Zein played 33 international matches for Lebanon, scoring 16 goals in the process.[5]
