Knovíz
Knovíz (Czech pronunciation: [ˈknoviːs]) is a village and municipality in Kladno District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It is located about 25 km northwest of Prague and 4 km southeast from Slaný. The municipality covers an area of 4.23 km² and as of 2006 it had a population of 515. Knovíz culture, an archeological culture of late Bronze Age is named after this site. Since early 1990s Czech filmmaker Jan Švankmajer creates his surrealist animated works in a former cinema in the village.
