Kurdistan Democratic Party (Iran)

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP; Kurdish: Hizba Dêmokrata Kurdistanê, abbreviated HDK; Persian: حزب دموکرات کردستان) is an ethnic party of Kurds in Iran, which split from Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI) in 2006 after a dispute over choosing its next leader in the latter's 13th convention.[3] The party "has no real influence on the masses in Iranian Kurdistan", according to Rodi Hevian.[3]
