Historical passing touchdowns leaders
Sixteen players are recognised as having held outright or tied the record as the NFL's career passing touchdowns leader.[4] The longest record holder was Fran Tarkenton who held the record for 20 years.

- Warren Moon spent six seasons in the Canadian Football League, accumulating an additional 144 TD passes prior to entering the NFL as such not counted but of note.
- Hadl was traded during the 1974 season; he played six games for the Rams and eight for the Packers.
- Jim Kelly spent two seasons in the USFL, accumulating an additional 83 TD passes prior to entering the NFL as such not counted but of note.
- Blanda was traded during the 1950 season; he played one game for the Colts and eleven games for the Bears.
- Steve Young spent two seasons in the USFL, accumulating an additional 16 TD passes prior to entering the NFL as such not counted but of note.
- Tittle's 30 touchdown passes in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) aren't included in this total, as the NFL does not recognise statistics accumulated in the AAFC.[1][2][3]
