List of awards and nominations received by Coldplay

Coldplay are a British alternative rock band formed in London by Chris Martin (lead vocals, guitars, piano), Jonny Buckland (guitar), Guy Berryman (bass guitar) and Will Champion (drums, percussion). They have released eight studio albums — Parachutes (2000), A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), X&Y (2005) Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), Mylo Xyloto (2011), Ghost Stories (2014), A Head Full of Dreams (2015), and Everyday Life (2019) — which have sold over 80 million copies.[1] The band has released around thirty eight singles, including: "Yellow", which was the band's first hit in the United States where it reached number six on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart;[2] "Speed of Sound", which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart;[3] "Viva la Vida" which was the band's first number-one single in the UK and the US[4][5] and "Paradise" which in 2012 became Coldplay's second UK number 1, reaching the same spot on several other charts across Europe.

Note
  1. Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

Coldplay has received 200 awards from 556 nominations. They were honored with 9 awards from 28 nominations in the Brit Awards — winning Best British Album three times and Best British Group four times. They have received 7 Grammy Awards from 30 nominations (35 including the solo recognitions). 2009 was their most successful year in the ceremony, receiving seven nominations at the 51st Grammy Awards — more than they had done previously — of which they got three recognitions. Coldplay has received 16 MTV Awards, including seven MTV Video Music Awards from twenty-five nominations, eight MTV Europe Music Awards from twenty-seven nominations and one Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica from six nominations. The music video for "The Scientist" received all the awards for which it was nominated at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. They have received four World Music Awards and nine Billboard Music Awards, with two of them being from the Touring Awards. Coldplay have also received six Q Awards from thirty nominations and have been honored with the Best Album award for three of their five nominated albums.
