Live from Spotify London is the ninth EP by British rock band Coldplay. The album was recorded in the Spotify headquarters, London, in 14 November 2016. The album was surprise-released exclusively through the streaming service Spotify on 16 December 2016.[1][2]

Background

The band was named as the most streamed band by Spotify in 2016, The band had gained more than five billion streams on its platform, while their seventh studio album, A Head Full Of Dreams (2015), gained over one billion streams. The five-song EP was to mark the achievement and served as a Christmas present to fans.[3] The live recording session was announced via the band's Twitter account on 10 November 2016; a contest to win the session's tickets was started on the same day.[4][5]
