Peesh ili luzhesh (Bulgarian: Пееш или лъжеш, English: You sing or lying) is a television mystery music game show broadcast by Nova. It is a Bulgarian adaptation of I Can See Your Voice.[1]

Gameplay

Format

A guest artist is presented with a group of eight "mystery singers". Some of the them are bad singers, and some are good. The artist must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group by guessing who they are without hearing them sing. They get assistance from clues and "celebrity panelists" over the course of four rounds. The guest artist will eliminate one to two singers at the end of each round and then proceed to perform on the "stage of truth". At the end, the winning mystery singer is revealed as good or bad by means of a duet with one of the guest artists.[2]

Rewards

If the winner is a good singer, he/she will perform again in the post-season showcase episode. On the other hand, if the winner is a bad singer, he/she gets a main prize of 3,000 leva.

Rounds

There are eight individuals of mystery singers standing on a platform to keep their identities concealed until the stage of truth performance.

Round 1: Singer's visual

The guest artist is given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance. After this, a muted video of each mystery singer that reveals only 0.3 seconds of their singing voice is played as an additional hint.

Round 2: Singer's talent

The guest artist(s) must predict each mystery singer based on other talents, except "singing" itself. It may unrelated to the stage of truth, but it depends on identity.

Round 3: Singer's lip-sync

Each mystery singer performs a lip-sync to a song. Good singers are miming to own voices while bad singers are miming to other's voices.

Round 4: Singer's verdict

The guest artist must have then 100 seconds to interrogate the remaining mystery singers before making the final decision.

Production

Nova Broadcasting Group was first announced the development of the series in August 2016. It was produced by Global Films Limited. The show's staff is commissioned by director Kiril Kirov; joined by producer Magarditch Halvadjian.[3] Pre-show auditions were took place at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.[4]

New Year's Eve Concert (31 December 2016)

The post-season episode took place on the last day of 2016, featuring all winning mystery singers alongside guest artists perform one last time. In the penultimate performance, Rosen Belov highlighted an example of a bad singers turned "good", thus it is the only ICSYV franchise to do so.[17]
