Rainer Wieland
Rainer Wieland (born 19 February 1957) is a German politician and member of the European Parliament for Germany. He is a member of the Christian Democratic Union, part of the European People's Party.[1]
Member of the European Parliament
Since 2009 Wieland has been one of the 14 Vice Presidents of the Parliament, this function was confirmed in 2019 for the following legislative period. He is a member of the conservative Christian Democratic Union, part of the European People's Party.
In 2013, Wieland chaired the Parliament's working group on transparency.[2]
In addition to his parliamentary work, Wieland is chairman of Europa-Union Deutschland Baden-Württemberg (regional section of UEF) and since 2011 has been President of Europa-Union Deutschland.[3]
Wieland is also partner in German law firm Theumer Wieland Weisenburger, with offices Stuttgart and Brussels.[4]

- Vice-President of the European Parliament, with special responsibility for buildings, budget, transport, environment-conscious Parliament, Ad Hoc Working Group on the implementation of security policies and strategies, relations with the French, Belgian and Luxembourg authorities on the seat and places of work of the Parliament, Representing the President of the Parliament for Africa / ACP[5]

- Full member of the ACP–EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly (ACP-EU)

- Deputy to the EURO-NEST Parliamentary Assembly
