Origins of name
In 1962, the television special Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol first used the term "razzleberry dressing" during the song "The Lord's Bright Blessing." This was a fictional dessert or sauce, invented for the TV special. The popularity of Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol introduced the term "razzleberry" into popular culture, though it was not used anywhere else until the introduction of razzleberry pie in the 1990s.
