Rhoel Gallardo
Rhoel Gallardo, C.M.F., (29 November 1965 – 3 May 2000) was a Roman Catholic Claretian missionary martyred in Basilan, the Philippines.

Death
He became a modern-day martyr on 3 May 2000[1] when he was murdered by Islamic separatists in Mindanao. Gallardo suffered three gunshot wounds at close range to his head, shoulder and back; the nails of his index finger and toes had been pulled out two or three days before he was shot.
