Rosokhach, Skole Raion

Rosokhach (Ukrainian: Росо́хач, ancient name Ukrainian: Росоха́тий По́тік) a small village (selo) in the Skole Raion, Lviv Oblast (province) of Western Ukraine.
Area of the village totals is 1,613 km2 and the population of the village is about 523 people.[1] Local government is administered by Rosokhachska village council.[2]

Geography

The village is located deep of the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine[3] within the limits of the Eastern Beskids, on the northern slopes of the Mountain Ridge Dovzhky. It is situated 141 kilometres (88 mi) from the regional center Lviv, 32 kilometres (20 mi) from the district center Skole, and 153 kilometres (95 mi) from Uzhhorod.[4]
The village is located on the river bank Zavadka,[5] which flows into the Stryi river on the territory of the Turka district.

History and Attractions

The first written mention of the village Rosochach was from 1561, during the colonization of Skole District in the 16th century.[6]

In the village is an architectural monument of local importance of Skole Raion (Skole district).[7] It is a wooden church St. of Archangel Michael, 1882.
