History

The RM of Eldon No. 471 incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909.[2] It was originally formed as Local Improvement District 24-5-3 on April 26, 1907.

In the 2011 Census of Population, the RM of Eldon No. 471 recorded a population of 751, a 0.1% change from its 2006 population of 750. With a land area of 1,007.59 km² (389.03 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.7/km² (1.9/sq mi) in 2011.[7]

Government

The RM of Eldon No. 471 is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator that meets on the second Wednesday of every month.[3] The reeve of the RM is Garry Taylor while its administrator is Ken E. Reiter.[3] The RM's office is located in Maidstone.[3]
