Skočice lies approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) south-east of Strakonice, 36 km (22 mi) north-west of České Budějovice, and 104 km (65 mi) south of Prague.
Historic monuments
- The Church of Visiting of Virgin Mary is an early baroque building consecrated in 1678 by noble donors Polyxena Ludmila and her husband Ignac Karel of Sternberg; a pilgrimage site known by its miracle picture of Virgin Mary (a copy of Cranach's Icon of Maria Hilf of Passau), surrounded by a cemetery. There is a pilgrim's route from Vodňany of about seven kilometres.
