History

This line was originally built in 1895 as the Pasadena and Los Angeles Railway. Originally operated as a local streetcar line, the tracks were incorporated into the Pacific Electric interurban system. Cars running between the Los Angeles Southern Pacific station and the Pasadena Southern Pacific station began on May 1, 1912. By August 11, 1932, service had been reduced to a single franchise car and the service was entirely abandoned July 30 the next year.[1]
