The length of the forewings is 13–14 mm for males and about 17 mm for females. The forewings are pale reddish brown, lightly speckled with dark brown. There is an oblique brown postmedial fascia edged distally with pale brown and there are three circular, hyaline patches at the end of the cell. The hindwings are darker than the forewings, but similarly specked with dark brown. The antemedial fascia is brown and edged distally with pale brown. There is a large orange-brown spot at the posterior angle of the cell.[3]
