The wingspan is 8–9 mm. The forewings are white, thinly brown-speckled with a small triangular black spot almost on the dorsum near the base. There are small dark fuscous spots (sometimes brown beneath) on the costa near the base, before the middle, and at two-thirds. A similar spot is found on the end of the cell, and smaller inconspicuous spots on the fold obliquely before this and midway between the latter and the base. There are dark fuscous spots at the apex and tornus and midway between these. The hindwings are rather dark grey.[2]
The larvae feed on the shoots of Quercus dentata.[3]
