Tmetolophota paraxysta

Tmetolophota paraxysta is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1929 from specimens collected around Waiouru by G. V. Hudson.[2] It is endemic to New Zealand.[1] In 2019 Robert J. B. Hoare published a paper in which he undertook a major review of New Zealand noctuids. Hoare, having inspected the type material of this species, placed it within the genus Ichneutica.[3]

T. paraxysta is a pale, medium-sized moth. Its hindwings are slightly darker than its forewings, and veins on the latter are clearly defined.[4]
