Xavier Mbuyamba

Xavier Tshimanga Kamaluba Ntite Mukendi Mpoyi Mbuyamba (born 31 December 2003) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a defender for English team Chelsea U23.[2]

Club career

MVV Maastricht

He made his Eerste Divisie debut for MVV Maastricht on 9 November 2018 in a game against FC Volendam, as an 85th-minute substitute for Tuur Houben.[3]

Barcelona

On 26 August 2019, Mbuyamba signed a deal with Barcelona.[4] The club announced on Twitter that he would join the under-19 team for the 2019–20 season.[5] On 25 January 2020, he was an unused substitute for Barcelona B in a 2–0 win against Ejea.[6]

Chelsea

Following his release from Barcelona in June, Mbuyamba joined Premier League side Chelsea on 20 August 2020, on a three-year deal. He will join the development squad for the 2020–21 season.[7]

Personal life

Mbuyamba was born in the Netherlands to a Congolese father and a Dutch mother.[8]
