Overview
As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, 30. Belsand (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Belsand and Parsauni community development blocks in Sitamarhi district and Tariani Chowk CD Block in Sheohar district.[1]

Election results
1977-2010
In the November 2010 state assembly elections, Sunita Singh of JD(U) won the 30 Belsand assembly seat defeating her nearest rival Sanjay Kumar Gupta of RJD. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Sanjay Kumar Gupta of RJD defeated Sunita Singh of JD(U) in October 2005. Sunita Singh representing LJP defeated Ram Swarath Rai of RJD in February 2005. Ram Swarath Rai of RJD defeated Rana Randhir Singh Chauhan of SAP in 2000. Raghubans Prasad Singh of JD defeated Digvijay Pratap Singh of Congress in 1995. Digvijay Pratap Singh of Congress defeated Raghubans Prasad Singh of JD in 1990. Raghubans Prasad Singh of LD defeated Digvijay Pratap Singh of Congress in 1985. Raghubans Prasad Singh of Janata Party (Secular – Charan Singh) defeated Ramanand Singh of Congress in 1980. Raghubans Prasad Singh of JP defeated Ramchandra Rai, Independent, in 1977.[2][3]
