Connor Doran
Connor Doran (born February 5, 1993[1]) is an American kite flier from from Bend, Oregon. He performs to music with quad-line kites. He is best known for flying indoor kites reaching the top 12 finalists of the fifth season of America's Got Talent.[2] Connor and his mother, Amy Doran fly at kite festivals, kite-related events, and epilepsy awareness events around the United States.[3]
Career
Doran began kite flying in 2007 to ease his epilepsy-induced anxiety.[1] As an epilepsy advocate, he stated "I used to live in fear of my epilepsy, but when I'm flying my kite, I don't even think about it. I hope my experience helps others build confidence too."[2] He continues to schedule and participate in kite flying performances bringing messages about epilepsy awareness, management, and the Epilepsy Foundation.[3]
America's Got Talent
Doran was eliminated in the Las Vegas round of the competition, but then was brought back by competition judge Howie Mandel as a wild card selection. He made it to the top 24 quarterfinals, and was subsequently eliminated.
