Dollfus (crater)

Dollfus is a crater in the Margaritifer Sinus quadrangle of Mars, located at 21.59° South and 4.26° West. It was named after French astronomer Audouin Dollfus in 2013.[1] At 363 km diameter, it forms one of the largest craters and impact basins on the planet, but it is so eroded that it is barely noticeable on the surface.

A topographic map created using Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) data. This map shows the elevation Dollfus crater and region relative to Martian areoid.
