Thira (crater)

Thira is a crater on Mars. It is located within the larger crater Gusev. It measures approximately 21.84 kilometres (13.57 mi) in diameter and was named after the town of Fira on the island of Santorini in Greece.[1]

Thira is located about 20 km (12 mi) east of the landing site of NASA's Spirit rover. The rim of the crater can be seen in the distance in images taken by Spirit.
