1956 United States presidential election in North Carolina
The 1956 United States presidential election in North Carolina took place on November 6, 1956, as part of the 1956 United States presidential election. North Carolina voters chose 14[4] representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

North Carolina was won by Adlai Stevenson (D–Illinois), running with Senator Estes Kefauver, with 50.66 percent of the popular vote against incumbent President Dwight D. Eisenhower (R–Pennsylvania), running with Vice President Richard Nixon, with 49.34 percent of the popular vote.[5][6] This would be the last time until 1992, when North Carolina did not vote for the winning candidate in a presidential election, while also being the most recent election when it supported a losing Democratic candidate.
