Behala Chowrasta metro station

Behala Chowrasta is a planned metro station of Kolkata Metro Line 3, which is under construction.[1] It is an elevated station, and will have side platforms. It is due to open in the first phase of this line. This is expected to be opened in 2021.

History

The work has been sanctioned in 2010-11 for new Metro line from Joka to BBD Bagh for a length of 16.72 km at an anticipated cost of Rs. 2619.02 Crores. The station will be launched in 2021.[2]

Electricity and signal systems

Like the other stations and lines of the Kolkata Metro, this station will use 750 volts DC power supply by the third railway to operate the trains.

Train movement will be conducted at this station and on the railway by communication-based train control signal system. This signal system can operate a 5 second interval train.
