Lucknow Cantt. is one of five assembly constituencies in the Lucknow (Lok Sabha constituency) Since 2008, this assembly constituency is numbered 175 amongst 403 constituencies.
Currently this seat is held by Suresh Chandra Tiwari who won in by-election in 2019 after incumbent Dr.Rita Bahuguna Joshi won lok sabha elction from Allahabad in 2019. Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi won in last general Assembly election of 2017 Uttar Pradesh Lagislative Elections defeating Samajwadi Party candidate Aparna Yadav by a margin of 33,796 votes.[1]
