Pratappur is one of five assembly constituencies in the Bhadohi (Lok Sabha constituency). Since 2008, this assembly constituency is numbered 257 amongst 403 constituencies.
Currently this seat belongs to Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Mohd Mujtaba Siddqui who won in last Assembly election of 2017 Uttar Pradesh Lagislative Elections defeating Apna Dal (Sonelal) candidate Karan Singh by a margin of 2,654 votes.[1]
