Macaroni schotel
Makaroni schotel or sometimes known as makaroni schaal[1] is an Indonesian macaroni casserole dish made up of pasta (macaroni), cheese, milk, butter, meat (smoked beef or chicken are widely used), sausage, tuna, eggs, onion, mushrooms and sometimes potato.

Etymology
The name makaroni schotel consists of two words, that are makaroni and schotel or schaal. Makaroni is Indonesian word for "macaroni" in English, while schotel or schaal is Dutch word that means "dish" or "platter".[1]

This dish is derived from Dutch cuisine influence in colonial Indonesia. The dish was introduced by the Dutch during the occupation in Indonesia, then adopted by Indonesian with local ingredients and taste.
