Balkan cuisine
Balkan cuisine is a type of Mediterranean cuisine that combines European characteristics with some of those from Western Asia. It is found in the Balkan Peninsula of Southeast Europe. Its components typically come from the traditional cuisines of Greece, Persia, the Arab countries, Serbia and Turkey.[1] The Balkan area contains a number of more specific cuisines, including:
- Albanian cuisine, the national cuisine of the Albanian people
- Bosnia and Herzegovina cuisine, the cuisine of Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Bulgarian cuisine, the cuisine of Bulgaria
- Croatian cuisine, the cuisines of Croatia

- Macedonian cuisine, the traditional cuisine of North Macedonia
- Macedonian cuisine (Greek), the cuisine of the region of Macedonia in northern Greece

- Romanian cuisine, the cuisine of Romania
- Serbian cuisine, the cuisine of Serbia
- Slovenian cuisine, the cuisine of Slovenia
