List of power stations in Alabama
This is a list of electricity-generating power stations in Alabama, sorted by type and name. In 2018, Alabama had a total summer capacity of 30,118 MW through all of its power plants, and a net generation of 145,058 GWh.[2] Alabama's electrical energy generation mix in 2020 was 11% coal, 39% natural gas, 37% nuclear, 10% hydroelectric and 3% renewables. The state is the second largest hydroelectric producer in the eastern U.S. (after New York), and its Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant is the nation's second largest nuclear generating facility.[1]
