Alcomdale

Alcomdale is a hamlet in central Alberta, Canada within Sturgeon County.[1] It is located on Highway 44, approximately 34 kilometres (21 mi) northwest of Edmonton's city limits. There is a community hall and public playground within the hamlet, no other services.

History

The community has the name of Dr. Alcombreck, the original owner of the site.[2]

Demographics

As a designated place in the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Alcomdale recorded a population of 88 living in 28 of its 33 total private dwellings, a change of 37.5% from its 2011 population of 64. With a land area of 0.2 km2 (0.077 sq mi), it had a population density of 440.0/km2 (1,139.6/sq mi) in 2016.[3]

The population of Alcomdale according to Sturgeon County's 2008 municipal census is 50.[4]
